Random apps are quite different from the non-Random versions, and require a
different application structure.  If your application really does make more
sense using set_page(), perhaps you might consider changing from a RandomApp to
a SimpleApp? 

(The examples and documentation are really heavily skewed towards the
non-Random versions as well, so it can be hard to adjust to the idiosyncrasies
of a Random application.)
